E-commerce Accountant

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced E-commerce Accountant to manage and reconcile financial transactions across multiple online sales channels, including Shopify, Amazon, Myntra, Flipkart, Ajio, and other marketplaces. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, expertise in GST compliance, marketplace reconciliations, inventory accounting, and MIS reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and daily financial records.
- Record sales, expenses, vendor payments, and customer refunds.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process bank entries and perform bank reconciliations.
Marketplace Reconciliation
- Reconcile sales, commissions, returns, refunds, settlements, and deductions from marketplaces such as Amazon, Myntra, Flipkart, Ajio, etc.
- Verify settlement reports against actual payments received.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in marketplace transactions.
- Monitor claims, reimbursements, penalties, and chargebacks.
Shopify & Website Accounting
- Reconcile Shopify sales with payment gateways such as Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree, Stripe, etc.
- Verify COD collections and payment gateway settlements.
- Track discounts, coupon usage, shipping charges, and promotional expenses.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Coordinate with operations and warehouse teams for inventory valuation.
- Track inventory movement and reconcile stock records with accounting systems.
- Monitor product-wise profitability and margins.
GST & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and file GST returns in coordination with consultants.
- Reconcile GST data with sales and purchase records.
- Ensure compliance with TDS, TCS, and other statutory requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and assessments.
Financial Reporting & MIS
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
- Generate reports on sales, profitability, expenses, and cash flow.
- Provide management with insights on business performance.
- Support monthly and annual financial closing activities.
Director Support
- Closely work with the Director on financial planning and expense monitoring.
- Track company-wide expenses and budgets.
- Assist in forecasting, cash flow management, and profitability analysis.
- Provide timely reports for strategic decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in e-commerce or retail.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, TCS, and Indian accounting standards.
- Hands-on experience with Tally, Busy, Zoho Books, or ERP systems.
- Experience working with Shopify, Amazon, Myntra, Flipkart, Ajio, and payment gateways.
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, MIS reporting).
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of marketplace reconciliations.
- Timely closure of monthly accounts.
- GST and statutory compliance adherence.
- Reduction in unreconciled transactions.
- Accuracy of MIS and financial reports.
- Effective expense control and cash flow management.
Preferred Experience
- D2C and marketplace e-commerce accounting.
- Multi-channel inventory reconciliation.
- Experience handling high-volume online transactions.
- Familiarity with ERP integrations and automation tools.
Experience Required: 3–7 Years

Salary: As per experience and industry standards.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
