RF/Telecom Engineer
Motorola | MOTOTRBO | TRBOnet | APCO P25 | SmartNet | ICOM
Experience
Minimum of five years of progressive experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and overhauling conventional and trunked DMR systems, particularly MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus and TRBOnet.
Hands-on experience with HF radio communications, including marine and airband systems, subscriber equipment such as portables and mobiles, and point-to-point microwave systems.
Experience maintaining Motorola SmartNet networks.
Working knowledge of IP, VoIP, and RoIP technologies.
Experience with vendors and platforms such as Motorola, ICOM, TAIT, Fluke, Rohde & Schwarz, Taiden, Tessco, Vaisala, and Anritsu is preferred but not required.
Experience working with or consulting for state and/or local government public safety agencies is preferred but not required.
Experience with VSAT satellite communications is preferred but not required.
Candidate Profile
BSEE degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; experienced DMR super technicians will also be considered.
Excellent written communication, interpersonal, and customer-facing communication skills.
Good working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
Detailed knowledge of PC systems and application software.
Strong knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite and router configuration.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
