Solar Installation Technician (ITI Electrician & ITI Fitter)
Company: Dricsol Energy
Department: Project Execution & Commissioning
Location: Site-Based (Field Operations)
Job Overview
Dricsol Energy is looking for skilled and motivated ITI Electricians and ITI Fitters to join our solar installation team. As a core part of our on-site execution crew, you will handle the mechanical assembly and electrical integration of residential, commercial, and industrial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
You will work closely under the site engineer to ensure all installations are structurally sound, electrically safe, and completed within project timelines.
1. Role & Responsibilities: ITI Electrician (Solar Electrical Technician)
The ITI Electrician focuses on the electrical side of the system, ensuring safe power generation, conversion, and grid integration.
- Wiring & Connections: Laying, routing, and terminating AC/DC cables from the solar arrays to the junction boxes, inverters, and main distribution boards.
- Component Installation: Mounting and connecting electrical components including Solar Inverters, Charge Controllers, ACDB/DCDB boxes, and battery banks.
- Earthing & Lightning Protection: Installing proper grounding/earthing systems and lightning arrestors to safeguard the installation.
- Testing & Commissioning: Assisting engineers in string testing, continuity checks, voltage/current measurements using multimeters, and checking for correct polarity.
- Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to electrical safety protocols, handling tools with proper insulation, and practicing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) when working with grid connections.
2. Role & Responsibilities: ITI Fitter (Solar Mechanical Technician)
The ITI Fitter focuses on the structural and mechanical aspects, ensuring the solar plant has a solid, perfectly aligned, and weatherproof foundation.
- Structure Assembly: Assembling, aligning, and fixing the module mounting structures (MMS) on roofs or ground surfaces according to engineering drawings.
- Panel Mounting: Unloading, lifting, and securely fixing solar PV modules onto the mounting structures using correct clamps, nuts, and bolts.
- Civil & Mechanical Alignment: Helping with basic site marking, anchoring structures safely to the base (roof or concrete foundation), and ensuring correct tilt angles.
- Fabrication & Repair: Using hand tools, cutting machines, and drilling equipment to make minor structural modifications or alignment corrections on-site.
- Material Handling: Managing the safe handling, unboxing, and inventory tracking of structural components and heavy hardware on the field.
Common Key Competencies & Skills Required
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret basic layout maps, structural drawings, or electrical line diagrams.
- Physical Fitness: Capability to work comfortably outdoors in varying weather conditions, climb ladders, work at heights (with safety harnesses), and lift up to 20–25 kg.
- Tool Proficiency: Hand-on experience with standard trade tools (crimping tools, wire strippers, drilling machines, cutters, spanners, and wrenches).
- Team Coordination: Smooth coordination between the mechanical fitting team and the electrical wiring team to avoid delays or structural rework.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: ITI Certification in Electrician trade or Fitter trade from a recognized institute (NCVT/SCVT).
- Experience: 0 to 2 years of experience in solar plant installations (Rooftop/Ground-mounted). Freshers with strong practical knowledge during their ITI course are welcome to apply.
- Certifications: Any prior training in solar installation (like Suryamitra) or working-at-height safety certification is a big plus.
