POSITION SUMMARY
The OPD Sister is responsible for providing efficient, patient-centered nursing care in the outpatient department, ensuring smooth patient flow, assisting consultants, and maintaining NABH standards of safety, hygiene, and documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Patient Care
- Assist doctors during OPD consultations and procedures
- Record vital signs (BP, Pulse, Temperature, SpO₂)
- Prepare patients for examination
- Provide basic nursing care and first aid when required
2. Patient Coordination
- Ensure smooth patient flow in OPD
- Guide patients regarding investigations, pharmacy, and follow-ups
- Maintain patient privacy and dignity at all times
3. Infection Control & Safety
- Follow infection control protocols (hand hygiene, PPE use)
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments
- Ensure biomedical waste segregation as per guidelines
4. Documentation (NABH Compliance)
- Maintain OPD registers and patient records
- Ensure accurate documentation of procedures and treatments
- Assist in audits and maintain required records
5. Medication Management
- Administer medications as prescribed
- Check expiry dates and maintain drug inventory
- Ensure safe storage of medicines
6. Equipment Handling
- Maintain and check OPD equipment (BP apparatus, glucometer, etc.)
- Report malfunctioning equipment immediately
7. Emergency Handling
- Provide immediate care in case of emergency in OPD
- Assist in shifting patients to ER/ICU when required
QUALIFICATIONS
- GNM / B.Sc Nursing
- Valid Nursing Registration
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1–2 years in OPD / Clinical setting preferred
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Good communication and patient handling skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Knowledge of NABH standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- As per hospital duty roster
