Your role and responsibilities :
At ABB’s Common Technology Center in Bangalore, we are looking for an experienced R&D Team Lead who can lead our Traction Digital solutions within Business Area Motion.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate leader who can engage and drive the organization, both on the local and global level. You are eager to learn from our experienced staff, but also a driving force that will push our boundaries forward. You are result-oriented, responsive and have a high sense of ownership for quality. You need to be a good communicator and have strong people and leadership skills, as you will collaborate with many different stakeholders across different countries and cultures.
This role is contributing to the Motion Business Traction Division in Bangalore India.
You will be mainly accountable for:
You will manage & mentor the local R&D team of 14+ people including internals, externals and interns.
Guide, coach, and mentor engineers on Career, Competence and Soft Skills.
Promote a culture of continuous improvements always striving for quality and efficiency
Responsible for staffing projects with competent people, making sure that the workload of the overall team fits the assigned projects and ensuring fair distribution of workloads
Ensure effective exchange of knowledge to promote collaboration. Foster a climate of innovation by motivating, guiding and empowering team members
You shape and innovate our IoT platform and applications that are providing condition monitoring and diagnostics services to our customers and internal users
You collaborate with product managers, PO’s and contribute to the program vision & roadmap and Collaborate with other ABB Business Units to align resources and expertise
Ensure effective and consistent use of ABB approved AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, GitHub)
Qualifications for the role :
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering / technology with 8 -10 years of experience in Software Development, Product Management and People Management.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Team / People Management
You possess strong knowledge in IoT domain with background of developing solutions using Microsoft platforms, C#, Big Data.
Strong background in research and development practices and processes
Experienced in international and cross-cultural collaboration and leadership. Strong team-leader with skills in team development and a focus on results and accountability
Your knowledge about Traction converter / battery domain is added advantage.
Your knowledge on tools and processes around DevOps is added advantage.
You possess excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
