Commis I – Continental Cuisine
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis I to join our continental kitchen team. The candidate will assist in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining kitchen hygiene standards while ensuring consistency and quality in continental dishes. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in continental cuisine and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook continental dishes as per standard recipes
- Assist Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Handle mise en place for sauces, soups, salads, grills, and other continental preparations
- Ensure food presentation and portion standards are maintained
- Support in preparing buffet and à la carte orders
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation
- Follow kitchen SOPs, hygiene, and food safety standards
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to senior chefs
- Minimize food wastage and control kitchen costs
Quality & Hygiene
- Follow HACCP and food safety guidelines
- Ensure proper handling of kitchen equipment and tools
- Maintain personal grooming and hygiene standards
- Adhere to temperature control and sanitation procedures
Team Coordination
- Coordinate with kitchen staff for smooth service operations
- Support junior kitchen staff when required
- Assist during busy service periods and special events
