Technical Documentation & 3D Animation Specialist – Engineering

Education
- Degree/Diploma: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Desktop Publishing, Visual Communication, Animation, 3D Design, Multimedia, Mechanical Visualization, or a related field.
Experience
- Professional History: 2–5 years of proven experience in desktop publishing, technical documentation, 3D visualization, or animation for manufacturing, engineering, or industrial products.
- Core Deliverables: Proven track record creating technical manuals, product visuals, rendered images, and instructional animations.

Key Responsibilities
A. Technical Documentation & Publishing
· Design and layout professional technical documents ensuring brand consistency, visual clarity, and compliance with international documentation standards.
· Prepare user manuals, installation guides, service manuals, maintenance documents, spare parts catalogues, training materials, and other engineering publications.
· Manage the document production workflow from raw manuscript/content to final print and digital output.
· Develop visual hierarchies, typography standards, page layouts, templates, and design systems for multi-page technical publications.
· Collaborate with technical writers, engineers, product teams, and SMEs to ensure accurate technical representation.
· Prepare documents for print and digital distribution across multiple formats and platforms.
· Manage version control, document revisions, asset libraries, and production schedules for multiple concurrent projects.
B. 3D Rendering, Animation & Visual Content Creation
· Create photorealistic 3D product renders for commercial foodservice equipment using CAD inputs, 3D models, engineering drawings, and product references.
· Develop high-quality technical animations for assembly, installation, operation, maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and product training.
· Create exploded-view animations, cutaway views, part movement animations, airflow/heat-flow visualization, mechanism animations, and step-by-step service animations.
· Apply realistic materials, lighting, textures, camera angles, and rendering techniques to produce professional product visuals.
· Optimize CAD/3D models for rendering, animation, and publication use.
· Create and edit technical illustrations, diagrams, exploded views, rendered images, and visual assets for manuals and training content.
· Produce motion graphics, callouts, labels, arrows, highlights, and instructional overlays for technical videos.
· Work closely with engineers and SMEs to ensure animation accuracy, correct assembly sequence, part movement, and technical intent.
· Prepare final animations in suitable formats for training videos, digital manuals, web platforms, presentations, and client review.
Required Tools Knowledge
Required Software & Tools (Must Have)
- Adobe After Effects: Motion graphics, video compositing, instructional overlays, animation enhancement
- Autodesk 3ds Max: 3D modeling, product rendering, lighting, camera setup, and animation
- Adobe InDesign: Technical document layout, typesetting, publication design
- Adobe Illustrator: Technical illustrations, vector diagrams, line drawings, callouts
- Adobe Photoshop: Image editing, render correction, texture refinement, visual enhancement
- Microsoft Word: Document formatting, review, and publishing support
Desired Software & Tools (Preferred)
- Autodesk Maya: Advanced 3D animation, product visualization, rendering support
- QuarkXPress / Acrobat Pro: Desktop publishing, PDF creation, optimization, and document review
- V-Ray / Arnold / Corona / KeyShot / Blender Cycles: Photorealistic rendering and product visualization (or equivalent)

- Structured Docs: Knowledge of XML/DITA for structured documentation and multi-channel publishing.
- Multimedia: Video editing and motion graphics experience for digital documentation and training content.
- Web Publishing: Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for web-based technical publications.
- Industry Experience: Specific experience with foodservice equipment, commercial kitchen equipment, manufacturing equipment, or industrial product documentation.
- Compliance Standards: Knowledge of international standards such as ISO, CE, safety labeling, and standard technical documentation practices.
- Alternative 3D Tools: Working knowledge of Maya, Blender, KeyShot, SolidWorks Visualize, or equivalent 3D visualization tools.
- Advanced Output: Experience creating exploded-view animations, product walkthroughs, service procedure videos, installation videos, and maintenance animations.
- CAD Optimization: Ability to convert and optimize raw CAD models into lightweight 3D assets for high-quality rendering and animation.
