Bring your energy to Aggreko as Product Lead Engineer. This role requires a professional engineer to lead critical design for new product development and enhancement, focusing on improving performance, efficiency, and manufacturability. They will collaborate with Product Engineering Managers to meticulously plan and execute projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications.

What you’ll do:
Lead Design Input: Drive product development and enhancement focusing on performance, efficiency, and expanding the product range.
Project Planning & Execution: Collaborate with Product Engineering Managers to define project approaches, priorities, and ensure timely, on-specification completion.
Define & Approve Testing: Establish and approve system test and validation requirements for new product developments, ensuring legislative compliance.
Supplier & BOM Management: Engage with key suppliers, select components based on technical and lifecycle cost, and ensure accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) creation.
Facilitate Design Reviews: Lead and facilitate design reviews for assigned product developments to ensure quality and adherence.
Conceptual Design Innovation: Create novel, market-leading conceptual designs that provide product differentiation and meet defined specifications.
You are:
Educational Background: A good Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with formal training in product development and design; Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
Extensive Design Experience: Proven experience in industrial machine design, particularly leading the design and development of gas or diesel reciprocating powered generator packages in a commercially demanding manufacturing environment.
Advanced Engineering Skills: Highly proficient in computer-aided 3D modeling, calculation, and simulation (including thermal, 1D flow, FEA, and CFD), applying engineering principles to optimize product specifications and performance.
Strategic Component & Supplier Management: Expertise in working with key suppliers, selecting components based on technical specifications and total cost of ownership over the full product lifecycle.
Project Leadership & Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to lead small, focused design teams, plan and drive projects to tight timescales while maintaining quality, and quickly recognize critical technical or workload issues.
