Job Title: CBSE English Teacher – High Grades
Job Summary
The English Teacher for Higher Grades is responsible for teaching English language and literature to students, developing reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills. The teacher will plan lessons, assess student progress, and create a positive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons according to the curriculum.
- Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and literature.
- Encourage students to develop speaking and communication skills.
- Use creative teaching methods, activities, and technology to enhance learning.
- Lesson Planning
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and teaching materials.
- Follow the school's academic calendar and syllabus.
- Incorporate activities such as debates, presentations, and creative writing.
- Student Assessment
- Conduct regular tests, assignments, and examinations.
- Evaluate students’ performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain records of student progress and report to school management.
- Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and a positive classroom environment.
- Encourage participation and respect among students.
- Student Development
- Support students in improving reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
- Identify students needing additional support and provide guidance.
- School Activities
- Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
- Organize and support activities such as debates, elocution, drama, and literary events.
- Assist in school functions and events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in English / Literature.
- B.Ed. (preferred or required depending on school policy).
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
Experience
- 2–5 years of teaching experience in middle or high school preferred.
Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong classroom management abilities.
- Creativity in teaching methods.
- Ability to motivate and engage students.
