Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented B.Tech Mechanical Engineer to join our FMCG manufacturing team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production machinery and utility systems to maximize equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain production machines to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Improve machine efficiency, productivity, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Coordinate with the Production, Quality, and Utility teams to minimize downtime.
- Ensure timely installation, commissioning, and validation of new machinery.
- Maintain maintenance schedules, records, and machine history.
- Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate with the Purchase team for procurement.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and company maintenance standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen.
- Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement preventive measures.
- Train machine operators on proper machine handling and basic maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience: 0–3 years (Freshers with industrial training in FMCG are welcome)
- Experience in FMCG, Food Processing, Cosmetics, Personal Care, or Pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance
- Understanding of pumps, motors, conveyors, compressors, gearboxes, and utility systems
- Basic knowledge of PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting skills
- Good understanding of machine installation and commissioning
- Familiarity with TPM, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and maintenance documentation
