Job Summary:
The Production Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the manufacturing processes of PVC pipes. The role ensures production targets are met with optimum efficiency, quality standards, and minimal downtime while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage daily production activities in PVC pipe manufacturing.
- Ensure smooth operation of extrusion lines and related machinery.
- Monitor production output and maintain daily production reports.
- Optimize machine utilization, reduce downtime, and improve productivity.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications for PVC pipes.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control team for testing and inspection.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to machinery, materials, and processes.
- Plan and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
- Ensure proper handling and usage of raw materials (PVC resin, additives, etc.).
- Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Train and guide production staff and operators.
- Implement cost-control measures and reduce wastage/scrap.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores for inventory management.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of PVC extrusion processes and machinery.
- Understanding of plastic processing techniques and materials.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage manpower and production schedules.
- Familiarity with quality standards (ISO, BIS, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Good communication and team coordination skills.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Plastic Engineering / Production Engineering or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in PVC/HDPE pipe manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of automation and process improvement techniques.
- Familiarity with ERP/software used in production planning.
