Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager – Injection Moulding
Location: SIPCOT Industrial Park, Irungattukottai, Chennai
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Injection Moulding professional to independently lead production operations in an automotive plastic injection moulding plant. The ideal candidate should be technically strong, resourceful, and capable of managing people while driving productivity, quality, and delivery performance.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow into an Operations Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day injection moulding production and shop floor operations.
- Optimize moulding processes to achieve consistent quality and productivity.
- Troubleshoot moulding defects and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of moulds, machines, and auxiliary equipment.
- Monitor production targets, machine utilization, rejection, cycle time, and downtime.
- Lead operators, setters, and supervisors while ensuring discipline and teamwork.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, improve OEE, and enhance productivity.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Safety, 5S, and IATF/customer requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical, Production, Polymer, Plastic Engineering or related field.
- 6 - 8 years of experience in Plastic Injection Moulding, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of injection moulding processes, moulds, machine maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Good leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in handling production teams and achieving operational targets.
