Leads piping design for industrial projects, including layouts, 3D models, routing, and stress analysis. Ensures cost-effective, compliant designs while coordinating with cross-functional teams and resolving technical issues.

Facilitate and orchestrate technical discussions with client, engineering disciplines and vendors to provide solutions for variety of technical issues.

Provide proactive approach to identification and management of piping design, technical, scheduling issues in a timely manner.

Sound understanding and appreciation of piping design and engineering activities including piping materials and pipe stress requirements.

Lead project piping studies and optimization exercises.

Review process design documents and provide piping inputs throughout the project design development.

Conduct and prepare sketched for conceptual and study level drawings for pipe racks, equipment locations etc.

Participate in interdisciplinary and vendor document review.

Prepare piping designs based on project requirements (pipe routing, models, piping arrangements, isometrics, material take-offs, pipe support details, etc.) for mining and industrial plants.

Prepare 3D models and layout general arrangements.

Prepare and maintain line lists, valve lists, specialty items list, etc.

Participate in Client meetings including value engineering, 3D model reviews, and HAZOPs.

Supervise and mentor junior staff.

Travel to project sites for field measurements and construction/commissioning as required.

Produce all deliverables in accordance with client requirements and recognized industry standards.

10 to 12 years of relevant experience on mining, sulfuric acid, hydro, and energy sectors., preferably with small to mid-sized EPC companies.

Experience in piping systems for slurry systems in mineral processing facilities.
-
Experience in detailing piping systems with a variety of materials including alloys and FRP.HDPE.

Technical college graduation with a minimum of 10 years piping design experience.

Working knowledge of process, maintenance and construction methods.

Proficiency in design tools such as Smartplant 3D, Plant 3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD 2D etc.

Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently when required.

Substantial experience working on mining projects.

Substantial experience in plant layout design.

Substantial experience in the preparation of detail drawings and the checking of drawings in a multidisciplinary environment.

Strong understanding of mechanical equipment installation requirements in the field.
