Job Title: Senior Machine Design Engineer – Special Purpose Machines

Objective
We are looking for a highly experienced and innovative Machine Design Engineer with a strong background in designing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs). The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing custom automation equipment tailored to specific industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems and components for SPMs using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.)
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturing and assembly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, controls, and production to ensure design feasibility and integration
- Conduct design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection based on application requirements
- Review and validate designs through simulations, FEA, and prototyping
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation including BOMs, assembly drawings, and technical specifications
- Support the build, testing, and commissioning of machines on the shop floor and at customer sites
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, ergonomic principles, and industry best practices
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting and continuous improvement of existing machines
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in mechanical design of Special Purpose Machines or custom automation equipment
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drafting tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor
- Strong understanding of mechanical components including pneumatics, actuators, linear guides, gearboxes, and bearings
- Experience in designing mechanisms for pick and place, indexing, assembly, inspection, or packaging applications
- Familiarity with GD&T, DFM/DFA principles, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into functional machine designs
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to travel for machine trials, installation, and support
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Certification in CAD or mechanical design tools (preferred but not mandatory)
Preferred
- Exposure to servo systems, sensors, and integration with PLC/robotics
- Experience in working with vendors and fabricators for prototype development
- Prior involvement in high-speed automation, vision inspection systems, or robotic integration
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
