JOB PURPOSE
To own end-to-end management of all product, process, statutory, and green/sustainability certifications for the manufacturing unit – including obtaining, renewing, and maintaining certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, BIS, CE, FSC/CoC, GREENGUARD, GreenPro, GRIHA, IGBC, EPD, Declare Label, BIFMA, and other customer or regulatory mandated certifications – ensuring the plant and its products remain fully compliant, market-ready, and audit-ready at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, plan, and manage the full lifecycle of certifications required for the manufacturing unit – ISO 9001 (QMS), ISO 14001 (EMS), ISO 45001 (OH&S), BIS, CE marking, FSC/Chain of Custody, and any customer-specific product certifications.
- Drive and maintain green building and sustainability certifications for products and the facility, including GREENGUARD (Gold), GreenPro (CII), GRIHA, IGBC (Indian Green Building Council), EPD (Environmental Product Declaration), Declare Label, and BIFMA (level®) – covering application, documentation, lab testing coordination, and renewal cycles.
- Coordinate with certification bodies, auditors, and government agencies for surveillance audits, renewal audits, and new certification applications.
- Maintain a certification tracker/calendar with validity dates, renewal timelines, and documentation status for all unit-level and product-level certificates.
- Liaise with statutory authorities for factory-related licenses and NOCs – Factory License, Pollution Control Board (Air/Water/Hazardous Waste), Fire NOC, Boiler Certificate, Weights & Measures, and other applicable licenses, working closely with HR & Administration for renewals.
- Prepare, review, and maintain documentation required for certification and compliance audits, including SOPs, work instructions, quality manuals, and records.
- Conduct internal audits and readiness reviews across departments to identify non-conformances and drive closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Act as the primary point of contact during external audits (certification bodies, customer audits, regulatory inspections) and ensure timely, satisfactory closure of audit observations.
- Train and guide department heads and shop-floor teams on certification requirements, documentation discipline, and compliance best practices.
- Monitor changes in applicable standards, regulations, and customer certification requirements, and proactively update internal processes accordingly.
- Maintain a centralized repository of all valid certificates, licenses, and audit reports; ensure easy retrievability for customer or regulatory review.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports and dashboards on certification status, audit findings, and compliance health for plant leadership.
- Support new product/customer onboarding by identifying and driving any additional certification requirements.
KEY RESULT AREAS (KRAS)
- 100% of statutory licenses and certifications renewed before expiry – zero lapses.
- Successful closure of all surveillance/renewal audits with minimal major non-conformances.
- Timely closure of CAPAs arising from internal and external audits within defined TAT.
- Up-to-date, audit-ready documentation across all certification standards.
- Reduction in customer/regulatory compliance-related escalations.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Production) or equivalent; additional certification in ISO Lead Auditor (9001/14001/45001) preferred.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in quality/compliance/certification management, preferably in a manufacturing environment (furniture, engineering, or allied industry preferred).
- Prior hands-on experience managing ISO certifications and statutory/factory licenses is essential.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards and audit processes.
- Working knowledge of green building and product sustainability certification frameworks – GREENGUARD, GreenPro, GRIHA, IGBC, EPD, Declare Label, and BIFMA – including their documentation, testing, and renewal requirements.
- Familiarity with Factories Act, Pollution Control norms, and other manufacturing-related statutory requirements.
- Excellent documentation, coordination, and follow-up skills.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with auditors, government officials, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for tracking and reporting.

Pay: ₹1,000,000.09 - ₹1,100,000.73 per year
