The Role
We are looking for a Fashion Designer with a refined design sensibility and a deep appreciation for couture craftsmanship. The ideal candidate will have experience designing occasion wear and luxury ethnic apparel, with the ability to translate creative concepts into beautifully executed garments.
From design development and fabric sourcing to embroidery execution and production, you will play a key role in shaping collections that reflect the aesthetic and values of the anantam label.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and design seasonal collections for the anantam in-house label.
- Develop silhouettes, colour stories, embroidery concepts, and garment details that align with the brand's design philosophy.
- Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and sampling briefs.
- Source premium fabrics, trims, embellishments, and artisanal materials from trusted vendors.
- Collaborate closely with embroidery artisans, pattern masters, sampling units, and production teams to bring each design to life.
- Oversee the complete product development process—from initial concept and sampling through fittings, refinements, and final production.
- Ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship, fit, finishing, and quality across every garment.
- Research emerging trends, traditional textile techniques, and global luxury fashion to inspire innovative collections while remaining rooted in Indian craftsmanship.
- Work collaboratively across merchandising and production to ensure timely collection launches.
Desired Profile
- 3–5 years of experience in luxury fashion, couture, bridal, or occasion wear.
- Proven expertise in designing garments featuring intricate embroidery, surface ornamentation, and handcrafted detailing.
- Strong understanding of Indian textiles, couture construction, garment finishing, and luxury fabrication.
- Extensive knowledge of embroidery techniques including zardozi, aari, dabka, sequins, threadwork, appliqué, and contemporary embellishment methods.
- Experience sourcing premium fabrics, trims, and embroidery materials.
- Strong production knowledge with the ability to coordinate effectively with karigars, vendors, and manufacturing partners to ensure seamless execution.
- Excellent aesthetic judgment with a meticulous eye for proportion, detail, colour, and finish.
- Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple design and production timelines simultaneously.
