Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) – Mechanical Design

Job Summary
We are looking for a Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) to join our Mechanical Design team working on sheet metal kiosk and enclosure products. The trainee will learn end-to-end design development using SolidWorks, support manufacturing-ready documentation, and coordinate with fabrication vendors under the guidance of senior engineers.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Design & Modeling
- Support 3D modeling of sheet metal parts and assemblies in SolidWorks, including brackets, panels, mounts, and frames.
- Create 2D manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, hole tables, and fabrication notes as per company standards.
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and part documentation while following revision control practices.
2. DFM/DFA & Engineering Support
- Assist in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) activities, including bend reliefs, corner treatments, stiffeners, PEM inserts, and fastener selection.
- Learn and apply basic GD&T principles and measurement/inspection practices.
- Support design improvements and engineering change activities.
3. Prototype & Manufacturing Support
- Coordinate with fabrication teams and vendors for drawing clarifications and prototype requirements.
- Support prototype builds, fit checks, assembly trials, issue identification, and implementation of design changes.
- Work closely with electronics and assembly teams for cable routing, component mounting, and service accessibility.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of SolidWorks, including part modeling, assemblies, and drawings.
- Understanding of sheet metal fundamentals such as bend allowance, K-factor, material thickness, and bend radii.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and basic fits.
- Willingness to learn fabrication processes such as laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, PEM inserts, and powder coating.
- Strong ownership mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to work on-site in Ahmedabad.
- Good communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- 0–2 years of experience in sheet metal design, mechanical design, or a related domain.
- Freshers with relevant internships or academic projects related to sheet metal products, kiosks, enclosures, or fabrication support may also apply.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in SolidWorks is mandatory.
- Understanding of sheet metal fundamentals, manufacturing drawings, tolerances, and fabrication processes will be preferred.
- Knowledge of GD&T fundamentals and drafting standards will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
