Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Highway Engineer cum Surveyor to join our infrastructure project team for a prestigious NHAI project. The candidate will be responsible for highway coordination, surveying activities, alignment verification, quantity measurements, and construction monitoring. The role requires expertise in highway engineering principles, surveying techniques, and site execution to ensure project quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Highway Engineering
- Assist in the planning, design, and execution of highway, road, and infrastructure projects.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and construction plans to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Monitor construction activities and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, contractors, and consultants for smooth project execution.
- Verify road alignment, levels, cross-sections, and geometric design parameters.
- Ensure compliance with IRC, MoRTH, NHAI, and other applicable standards and specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare technical reports on project progress and quality.
- Assist in quantity estimation, measurement verification, and project documentation.
Surveying Activities
- Carry out topographic, route, and construction surveys for highway and infrastructure projects.
- Operate and manage survey instruments such as Total Station, Auto Level, DGPS, and GPS equipment.
- Establish and verify control points, benchmarks, centerlines, and reference points.
- Conduct alignment surveys, profile surveys, cross-section surveys, and as-built surveys.
- Prepare and maintain survey records, field notes, drawings, and measurement reports.
- Coordinate with design and construction teams to resolve survey-related issues.
- Ensure accuracy of survey data and provide technical support during construction activities.
Quality & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of survey data, site measurements, and engineering reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Assist in preparing project documentation, quantity calculations, and client submissions.
- Support project audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in highway construction, road projects, or infrastructure development.
- Experience working on NHAI, MoRTH, or other government highway projects will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of highway engineering principles and surveying methodologies.
- Familiarity with IRC, MoRTH, and NHAI specifications.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD
- Civil 3D (Preferred)
- Total Station
- DGPS / GPS Survey Equipment
- Auto Level
- MS Excel and MS Office
- Knowledge of highway alignment, geometric design, and earthwork calculations.
