Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and safety-focused MEP Safety Engineer to ensure compliance with health and safety standards across Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) construction activities. The ideal candidate should have 2+ years of experience in construction site safety, preferably in MEP projects, with strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessments, and site inspection procedures.
This role involves monitoring site safety, conducting inspections, implementing safety protocols, investigating incidents, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring all MEP activities are executed in accordance with safety standards and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all MEP works, including HVAC, Fire Fighting, Electrical, and Plumbing installations, are carried out safely.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Monitor activities such as pipe installation, hydro testing, lifting operations, scaffolding, and electrical works.
- Implement and enforce site safety policies, PPE compliance, and permit-to-work systems.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety training sessions, and awareness programs for workers and supervisors.
- Prepare and maintain safety reports, inspection records, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and company safety standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor fire safety systems and emergency preparedness at project sites.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in construction site safety, preferably in MEP projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP installation safety procedures and construction safety regulations.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and site inspections.
- Good communication, observation, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with project teams.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of OSHA, IS standards, or other construction safety regulations.
- Experience in incident investigation and corrective action planning.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Safety certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
