Position Overview:
We are seeking a Hydraulic Designer with expertise in open channel drainage and piping systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing hydraulic systems to ensure efficient water flow, drainage, and fluid transport. The role requires strong technical knowledge in hydraulics, fluid mechanics, and CAD software.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Analysis: Develop designs for open channel drainage systems and piping networks for water supply, wastewater, and stormwater management.
Hydraulic Calculations: Perform flow analysis, pressure drop calculations, and pipe sizing using industry-standard methodologies and software.
Software Utilization: Use hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, EPANET, WaterGEMS, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit) to create and validate designs.
Technical Reports & Documentation: Prepare technical specifications, design reports, and construction drawings.
Collaboration: Work with civil, structural, and mechanical engineers to integrate hydraulic designs into larger infrastructure projects.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs comply with local and international standards (e.g., ASCE, AWWA, NFPA, ISO, or relevant regional codes).
Field Support: Assist in construction support, site visits, and troubleshooting hydraulic issues.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years in hydraulic design, with a focus on open channel drainage and piping systems.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, hydrology, stormwater management, and pipeline hydraulics.
Software Expertise: Proficiency in hydraulic modeling tools and CAD-based design software.
Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct hydraulic simulations, capacity analysis, and optimization studies.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent license is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
Working knowledge of urban drainage, flood control systems, or water treatment plants.
Experience with municipal, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with GIS-based hydraulic analysis and geospatial data interpretation.
