The Assistant Manager – Quality will be responsible for driving quality planning, product quality assurance, and process excellence throughout the product lifecycle, including new product introductions (NPI), product transfers, cable assemblies, harnesses, connectors, and serial production. The role ensures compliance with corporate quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory certifications while supporting manufacturing operations through robust quality engineering, inspection systems, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The incumbent will collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Purchasing, and Project Management teams to achieve world-class quality performance and customer satisfaction.

Lead quality planning activities for new product development, product transfers, and localization projects.

Define and deploy quality objectives aligned with project milestones and corporate standards.

Conduct and facilitate risk assessments including DFMEA, PFMEA, and process risk analyses.

Identify and manage Special Characteristics for products and manufacturing processes.
-
Develop and maintain Control Plans based on FMEA results, product specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.

Implement and monitor quality control methodologies such as MSA, SPC, Capability Studies (Cp/Cpk), and statistical quality tools.

Establish inspection strategies and quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

Develop inspection instructions, quality standards, and testing methodologies.

Support First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP/PPA, pilot runs, and product qualification activities.

Ensure process validation and quality approval during pilot production phases.
-
Define quality requirements for incoming materials and outsourced products.
-
Support Incoming Quality Control (IQC) in developing test plans, test cards, and inspection procedures.

Drive supplier quality improvement initiatives and manage supplier complaints.
-
Review and approve incoming inspection standards for critical materials and components.

Support qualification and approval of suppliers in accordance with company standards.

Supervise and guide IPQA and FQA activities to ensure compliance and effectiveness.

Monitor process performance using quality metrics and statistical analysis.

Report quality performance indicators and production quality abnormalities promptly.

Address customer complaints through structured problem-solving methodologies.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA/CAR).

Coordinate customer quality responses and ensure timely closure of issues.

Provide technical quality support and solutions to customers when required.

Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring product conformity and reliability.
-
Maintain compliance with applicable quality management systems and corporate standards.

Manage 3C/CQC quality certification requirements and ensure ongoing compliance.

Establish and maintain controlled documentation systems.
-
Ensure appropriate management and usage of approved quality labels and certifications.

Coordinate re-certification activities for modified or non-conforming approved products.
-
Support audits, regulatory inspections, and certification assessments.

Analyze quality trends, scrap, rework, and cost of poor quality (COPQ).

Lead quality improvement projects to enhance process capability and product performance.

Promote Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Drive initiatives focused on defect reduction, process optimization, and operational excellence.

Support implementation of best practices across manufacturing operations.
-
Participate in daily shop floor meetings and provide quality-related updates.

Work closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, IE, and Project Management teams.

Support troubleshooting and problem-solving activities across departments.

Contribute to organizational quality initiatives and strategic projects as assigned by management.

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or B.Tech from a recognized institution.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

8–10 years of experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Experience in electromechanical products, connectors, cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, or related industries is highly preferred.
