Role Overview
The Director will lead the Bay Range Innovation and Incubation Council, building and sustaining a dynamic innovation ecosystem across the institution. The role drives entrepreneurship, startup incubation, industry collaboration, and research-linked innovation aligned with national programs such as NIRF, AICTE IDEA Lab, and DPIIT-recognized incubators.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, manage, and scale incubation facilities, startup support systems, and pre-incubation programs.
- Build and maintain strategic industry partnerships, MoUs, and innovation-driven collaborative projects.
- Mentor early-stage and growth-stage startups; facilitate access to funding, grants, and venture networks.
- Drive innovation and IP policies aligned with national initiatives (AIM, Startup India, TIDE 2.0).
- Organize hackathons, ideathons, workshops, and entrepreneurship development programs for students and faculty.
- Liaise with government bodies, investors, and industry leaders to strengthen the institution's innovation profile.
- Lead IP filing support, technology transfer initiatives, and research commercialization.
Eligibility
- Master's or Doctoral degree; PhD preferred in Engineering, Management, Technology, or related field.
- Proven track record in leading innovation, incubation, or entrepreneurship ecosystems within a university, research institution, or recognized incubation center.
- Strong industry connect, investor network, and leadership skills.
- Experience in startup mentoring, seed funding facilitation, and technology transfer.
- Good command of written and spoken English; strong stakeholder communication and presentation skills.
Key Conditions
- Candidates from West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and North-East states will not be considered.
- Candidates must be willing to commit to a minimum of 3 years of continuous employment, confirmed in writing at the time of joining.
