Job Summary
The Hotel Revenue Manager is responsible for maximizing top-line room revenue and optimizing profitability through the strategic management of pricing, inventory, and distribution channels. This role relies heavily on data analytics, market forecasting, and competitive benchmarking to ensure the property sells the right room to the right guest at the right time for the right price.
The Revenue Manager works in close alignment with Sales, Marketing, and Front Office teams to develop and execute dynamic commercial strategies that outperform the competitive set.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Strategic Pricing and Yield Operations
- Develop, implement, and continuously adjust a dynamic, demand-based pricing philosophy across all room categories and market segments.
- Manage daily yield operations, analyzing pickup, pace, and cancellations to make immediate rate and restriction adjustments (e.g., Minimum Length of Stay).
- Create and maintain a rolling demand calendar tracking local events, holidays, and historical trends that impact market compression.
2. Forecasting and Budgeting
- Generate accurate short- and long-term top-line revenue forecasts (e.g., 30-60-90 day rolling forecasts) segment by segment.
- Lead the annual top-line revenue budgeting process, establishing realistic but aggressive targets for occupancy, ADR (Average Daily Rate), and RevPAR.
- Produce weekly and monthly variance reports, identifying performance gaps and delivering actionable strategies to capture missed opportunities.
3. Distribution and Channel Management
- Oversee the property’s presence across all distribution channels, including Brand.com, Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), Global Distribution Systems (GDS), and wholesale partners.
- Ensure absolute rate parity across all public channels while optimizing the channel mix to reduce third-party commission costs and drive direct bookings.
- Audit and maintain property management systems (PMS), central reservation systems (CRS), and revenue management software (RMS) to ensure data accuracy and proper configuration.
4. Competitive Benchmarking and Analytics
- Monitor and analyze market intelligence data (e.g., STAR reports, rate shoppers, and forward-looking demand tools) to evaluate the hotel's performance against its competitive set.
- Conduct regular competitive benchmark studies to analyze rivals' pricing, positioning, and promotional tactics.
5. Collaboration and Team Leadership
- Prepare for and chair the weekly Revenue Management Strategy meetings, aligning executive leadership on upcoming strategies, group blocks, and transient pace.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales to analyze and price group business proposals, evaluating displacement risks to ensure optimal total displacement profitability.
- Partner with Marketing to design targeted, data-driven promotional campaigns during anticipated need periods.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Analytical Excellence: Advanced ability to interpret complex data sets, recognize booking trends, and translate metrics into profitable pricing strategies.
- System Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with major Property Management Systems (PMS), Revenue Management Systems (RMS like IDeaS or Duetto), Central Reservation Systems (CRS), and Excel.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent presentation and verbal skills; ability to clearly communicate complex analytical data and "the story behind the numbers" to owners, general managers, and corporate executives.
- Problem Solving: A forward-thinking problem solver who can react quickly to changing market volatility and shifting economic conditions.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of progressive revenue management experience within the hospitality industry.
- Certifications (Preferred): Brand-specific certifications (e.g., Marriott, Hilton, IHG, or Hyatt revenue management systems) are highly desirable. Multi-property management experience is a plus
Pay: ₹90,000.00 - ₹175,000.00 per month
