This role will collaborate with the sales team to secure pre-sales and post sales requirements and will work directly with Customers, Sales, Project Management and Field Technicians.
Responsibilities:
- Research, design and engineering from simple to complex AV systems.
- Generate functional line drawing for audio, video, control and communication systems
- Design documentations to implement system installations using CAD – Floor plans, equipment elevations, architectural and structural features, schematic signal flow diagrams, detailed wiring diagrams for audio controls.
- Extensive knowledge of signal flow for audio, video, control, and networking
- Assist the sales team in developing proposals and estimates
- Proactively manage change orders and processing
- Effectively coordinate with project managers on project details
- Continuous education on design practices and new product knowledge
- Attend sales meetings and job walks
- Create Project Closeout Documents
- Assists in Pre-Sales activities including, but not limited to quote assistance, technical specifications, defining customer scope of work, and other pre-sales / pre-installation activities as necessary.
- Responsible for reviewing pre-sales quotes, to ensure the bill-of-materials is commensurate with the intended scope of work prior to purchase order submission.
- Manages Design, Scope and Order reconciliation for new projects from pre-sale to sign off in assigned territory. Responsible for production design accuracy Responsible for reviewing sales orders, after purchase order submission, to ensure the bill-of-materials is commensurate with the intended scope of work. Communicates findings in project meetings with Project Managers, Sales Reps, and other appropriate personnel. Accountable to project team for ensuring all technical requirements are met.
- Develops project objectives and specifications through project plans, product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; working closely with Sales to complete technical assessments and project proposals.
- Responsible for technical design of projects annually while maintaining high quality and customer satisfaction standards.
- May lead advanced product installations to completion. Responsibilities include product configuration, communicating customer network issues and super user training.
- Ensure that AV systems are being installed, programmed, tested, and commissioned according to current industry and company standards
- Develop deep knowledge of current and emerging Audio Visual technologies.
- Work in close coordination with Project Managers, Field Supervisors and customers project team regarding project deliverables.
- Supervise Request for Quotation (RFQs), Request for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposal (RFPs), Request for Tender (RFTs), standard techno-commercial offers, bundled solution bids and upgraded propositions/ SOWs.
- Facilitate Technical / Commercial BOQ, System Functionality Document, AV System Schematic Drawings and Audio-Visual Layouts.
Qualification:
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with in the audio-visual industry
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering & design
Certifications:
- InfoComm CTS and CTS-D certification preferred
- Certifications in Crestron, Extron, Shure, Planar, Biamp, AMX, QSC, Polycom, Cisco and others
- Competent use of AutoCAD, MS Office, Visio and Database Programs
- Ability to understand IP networks and architecture.
- Strong understanding of audio visual principles, practices and design.
- Substantial communication skills to interface with clients, architects, contractors, project managers and company staff
