Job Summary
The Production Engineer – Fabrication Shop is responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling fabrication activities such as welding, fitting, cutting, and assembly to ensure smooth production operations, quality standards, and timely delivery. The role involves coordinating with supervisors and operators, improving productivity, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor daily fabrication activities including welding, fitting, gas/plasma cutting, and assembly.
- Coordinate with shop floor supervisors and operators to ensure smooth workflow.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per the production plan.
- Interpret fabrication drawings and technical specifications for proper execution.
- Monitor fabrication quality and ensure compliance with required standards.
- Coordinate with the quality department for inspections and approvals.
- Identify production issues and implement corrective actions to reduce delays.
- Monitor material usage and reduce wastage or rework.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machines, and tools.
- Maintain production reports, work progress reports, and daily production records.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and shop floor safety standards.
- Support improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Production Engineering.
- 1–3 years of experience in fabrication shop production.
- Knowledge of welding processes (MIG/TIG/Arc) and fabrication activities.
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.
- Basic knowledge of material handling and fabrication tools.
- Good coordination and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication standards.
- Experience in heavy fabrication or equipment manufacturing.
- Understanding of quality inspection processes.
- Strong communication and team coordination skills.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
