Job Description: L1 Cloud Engineer
Role Summary
An L1 Cloud Engineer is responsible for providing first-level support for cloud infrastructure, monitoring systems, and ensuring basic operational stability. This role focuses on incident monitoring, initial troubleshooting, and escalation to higher support teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) using monitoring tools
- Respond to alerts, incidents, and service requests in a timely manner
- Perform initial troubleshooting of cloud-related issues
- Escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams with proper documentation
- Manage basic cloud resources such as VMs, storage, and networking components
- Assist in user access management (IAM roles/policies)
- Execute routine operational tasks like backups, patching, and updates
- Maintain incident logs and tickets in tools like ServiceNow or Jira
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and operational guidelines
- Support deployment activities under supervision
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, VPN)
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows operating systems
- Basic understanding of virtualization and cloud architecture
- Awareness of monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor)
- Knowledge of ITIL and ticketing systems
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. Certifications like AWS Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals are preferred.
Experience
1–3 years of experience in cloud support, IT support, or infrastructure roles.
Work Environment
24x7 rotational shifts, collaborative work environment with L2/L3 teams.
