Position : Design Engineer -Bus Body Design
Experience: 3 to 6 years
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
Location: Thane
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop bus body structures, including chassis integration, body panels, and sheet metal components.
- Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings using tools like CATIA, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
- Conduct feasibility studies, tolerance analysis, and material selection for bus body and sheet metal components.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
- Perform structural analysis, load calculations, and simulate the behavior of sheet metal parts under operational conditions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant automotive safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Identify design improvements for durability, weight reduction, and ease of assembly.
- Provide technical support during prototyping, testing, and production stages.
- Keep updated with the latest technologies in sheet metal forming, welding, and bus body design.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
- Proven experience in bus body design and sheet metal components.
- Strong knowledge of material properties, sheet metal forming, welding, and assembly techniques.
- Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with CAE tools for stress analysis and simulation (ANSYS, HyperWorks, etc.) is a plus.
- Understanding of automotive standards and regulations related to commercial vehicles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in commercial vehicle or bus manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of vehicle aerodynamics, ergonomics, and NVH considerations.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, sheet metal fabrication, and production processes.
