Position Overview
We are seeking 8 to 10 years experienced Senior Snowflake Administrator to manage, optimize, secure, and support enterprise Snowflake environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Snowflake administration, security, performance tuning, cost optimization, disaster recovery, and cloud platform integrations. This role will be responsible for maintaining Snowflake platform stability, implementing governance controls, and supporting business-critical data workloads.
Key Responsibilities
Snowflake Administration

Administer and support Snowflake environments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production.

Manage Snowflake accounts, databases, schemas, warehouses, resource monitors, and integrations.

Configure and maintain virtual warehouses, auto-scaling, auto-suspend, and resource optimization.

Perform environment cloning and data refresh activities using Zero-Copy Cloning.
Security & Access Management
-
Design and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
-
Manage users, roles, privileges, and access requests.
-
Configure Single Sign-On (SSO), MFA, and identity provider integrations (Okta, Azure AD, etc.).
-
Implement security policies including masking policies, row access policies, and network policies.
-
Conduct regular security audits and access reviews.
Performance & Cost Optimization
-
Monitor Snowflake usage, query performance, and warehouse utilization.
-
Analyze query execution plans and recommend performance improvements.
-
Implement resource monitors and credit consumption controls.
-
Drive cost optimization initiatives across Snowflake workloads.
Monitoring & Support
-
Monitor platform health using Snowflake Account Usage and Information Schema views.

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to Snowflake infrastructure.

Participate in on-call support and incident management activities.

Develop operational dashboards and alerting mechanisms.
Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery

Manage Time Travel, Fail-safe, and data recovery processes.

Implement and maintain database replication and failover strategies.
-
Support business continuity and disaster recovery testing activities.
Cloud & Integrations
-
Configure and manage Storage Integrations and External Stages.
-
Support Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and external data ingestion frameworks.
-
Collaborate with cloud teams on AWS, Azure, or GCP integrations.

Ensure secure connectivity between Snowflake and external systems.
Automation & Governance
-
Automate administrative tasks using Python, Shell scripting, or Terraform.
-
Establish governance standards, naming conventions, and operational procedures.
-
Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
-
7+ years of overall IT experience.

4+ years of hands-on Snowflake Administration experience.
-
Strong experience with Snowflake Security and RBAC implementation.
-
Experience with warehouse management, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
-
Hands-on experience with Snowflake Time Travel, Cloning, Replication, and Failover.
-
Experience integrating Snowflake with AWS, Azure, or GCP services.
-
Strong SQL skills for administration and troubleshooting.
-
Experience with monitoring, alerting, and production support.
Preferred Qualifications

SnowPro Core Certification and/or SnowPro Advanced Administrator Certification.

Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.

Knowledge of data governance and compliance frameworks.

Experience supporting large-scale enterprise Snowflake environments.
