We are seeking an experienced Lead DB2 LUW DBA to take ownership of managing, optimizing, and supporting critical database environments, while ensuring seamless operations and data transformations.
Responsibilities

Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot production database issues

Build and maintain HADR environments, including Primary-Standby and Auxiliary Standby setups

Oversee cross-platform database migrations, such as AIX to Linux or Windows to Linux
-
Perform migrations of databases from Windows to Cloud Linux environments with HADR configurations
-
Conduct regular database health checks, including DB size, HADR status, reorganization status, and log space usage
-
Perform DB2 LUW version upgrades and manage installations and configurations for versions 10.1/10.5/11.1/11.5
-
Execute database backups in online, offline, compressed, and non-compressed modes
-
Design and maintain robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines in collaboration with stakeholders
-
Optimize data pipelines for high performance, scalability, and reliability
-
Ensure data quality, consistency, and traceability across environments
-
Document database architectures, data flows, and transformation logic
Requirements

9 to 14 years of overall professional experience

Strong expertise with DB2 LUW database administration and technologies like DPF and Blu Acceleration
-
Comprehensive knowledge of HADR environments and cross-platform database migrations
-
Proficiency in DB2 LUW versions 10.1, 10.5, 11.1, and 11.5, including installations, configurations, and upgrades
-
Expertise in database backup strategies, including online, offline, compressed, and non-compressed modes
-
Thorough background in performing database health checks and remediation procedures
-
Familiarity with data pipeline design and optimization for ingestion, transformation, and scalable processing
-
Solid understanding of migrating databases to Cloud Linux environments with HADR setups

IBM DB2 certification
