JOB DESCRIPTION – ADMISSION COUNSELLOR

Role Purpose
The Admission Counsellor will be responsible for managing the school’s admission journey from enquiry to enrolment. The role involves counselling prospective parents, communicating the school’s philosophy and academic offerings, conducting campus visits, managing leads and follow-ups, and contributing towards achieving admission targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enquiry & Lead Management
- Handle admission enquiries through calls, WhatsApp, email, website enquiries and walk-ins.
- Understand the requirements of prospective parents and provide accurate information about the school.
- Maintain and regularly update the admission database/CRM.
- Ensure timely and systematic follow-up with all prospective families.
2. Parent Counselling & Conversion
- Counsel parents on the school’s curriculum, pedagogy, academic programmes, facilities, fee structure and overall value proposition.
- Understand parent expectations and appropriately position the school’s offerings.
- Build strong relationships and establish trust with prospective families.
- Drive enquiry-to-visit and visit-to-admission conversions while maintaining a parent-centric approach.
3. Campus Visits & School Presentation
- Conduct campus tours for prospective parents and students.
- Present the school’s philosophy, learning environment, facilities and unique differentiators effectively.
- Coordinate with academic and administrative teams for meetings with prospective families, wherever required.
4. Admission Process
- Guide parents through application, assessment, interaction, documentation and fee-payment procedures.
- Coordinate admission assessments, student interactions and other admission formalities.
- Ensure all admission documents and records are complete and accurate.
- Coordinate with Accounts, Academics, Transport and Administration for smooth student onboarding.
5. Outreach & Events
- Participate in open houses, admission drives, parent events, education fairs and other outreach activities.
- Support initiatives aimed at generating quality admission enquiries.
- Assist the marketing team with admission-related campaigns and parent communication.
6. Reporting & MIS
- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, follow-ups, campus visits and conversions.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly admission reports.
- Track individual leads and ensure no prospective parent is left unattended.
- Analyse enquiry and conversion trends and share relevant inputs with the Admissions Head.
7. Parent Experience
- Ensure a professional, warm and seamless admission experience for every prospective family.
- Respond promptly to parent queries and concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and family information.
- Represent the school professionally at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate in any discipline; a qualification in Education, Management, Marketing or Counselling will be an advantage.
- 2–5 years of experience in school admissions, education counselling, sales, customer relationship management or a similar role.
- Experience in a reputed CBSE / IB / Cambridge school will be preferred.
- Experience in handling admissions for premium schools will be an added advantage.
