Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced HVAC Engineer / HVAC Technician to handle the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of HVAC systems. The candidate should have strong knowledge of AHU, FCU, chillers, ventilation systems, ducting, air-conditioning systems, and HVAC controls.
The candidate should be capable of working independently, managing site activities, coordinating with other departments and contractors, and ensuring that all HVAC works are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, operate, and maintain HVAC systems.
- Handle AHU (Air Handling Units), FCU (Fan Coil Units), chillers, package units, split AC systems, and ventilation systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC equipment.
- Troubleshoot problems related to cooling, airflow, temperature, pressure, and ventilation.
- Inspect and maintain ducting systems, dampers, diffusers, grills, and insulation.
- Monitor and maintain chilled water systems, pumps, valves, and cooling coils.
- Check and replace air filters and maintain proper indoor air quality.
- Inspect AHU fans, motors, belts, bearings, and electrical components.
- Maintain condensate drainage systems and identify water leakage issues.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of HVAC equipment.
- Read and understand HVAC drawings, layouts, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Production, and Project teams.
- Supervise HVAC technicians, helpers, and subcontractors.
- Prepare daily work reports and maintenance reports.
- Prepare material requirements and coordinate with the procurement department.
- Ensure proper maintenance records and equipment history.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Shipyard / Industrial Responsibilities
- Maintain HVAC and ventilation systems in workshops, offices, accommodation areas, and industrial facilities.
- Handle ventilation requirements for fabrication and production areas.
- Coordinate exhaust and fresh air systems.
- Support ventilation systems for areas exposed to welding fumes, dust, heat, and paint fumes.
- Ensure HVAC equipment is protected against humidity and corrosion, especially in marine environments.
- Monitor corrosion and deterioration of HVAC equipment and ducting.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
- Experience with AHU, FCU, Chillers, DX systems, and ventilation systems.
- Knowledge of chilled water systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC ducting and insulation.
- Understanding of airflow, CFM, static pressure, and ventilation.
- Ability to troubleshoot HVAC equipment independently.
- Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Ability to read HVAC drawings and technical documents.
- Knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures.
- Basic knowledge of electrical controls and HVAC control systems.
- Good understanding of safety requirements.
- Ability to manage technicians and subcontractors.
Educational Qualification
HVAC Technician:
- ITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
HVAC Technician:
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in HVAC maintenance and installation.
Shipyard or marine industry experience will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
