The Account Assistant will support the hotel’s finance and accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments, monitoring daily transactions, and assisting with financial reporting. The role requires attention to detail, good numerical skills, confidentiality, and coordination with hotel departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain daily accounting transactions in the accounting system.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Verify and process supplier invoices, bills, and payment documents.
- Prepare and maintain vouchers, receipts, invoices, and supporting documents.
- Assist with daily cash, credit card, and bank reconciliation.
- Check hotel revenue reports and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
- Assist with Night Audit and daily revenue reconciliation.
- Monitor guest accounts, city ledger, and outstanding receivables.
- Maintain records of supplier accounts and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Reconcile purchase records with invoices and supporting documents.
- Assist with inventory and stock-related accounting records when required.
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents for audit purposes.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Food & Beverage, Stores, Purchase, and other departments regarding financial transactions.
- Assist during internal and external audits.
- Ensure accounting procedures comply with hotel policies and applicable regulations.
- Perform other finance-related duties assigned by the Accounts Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of accounting experience; hotel/hospitality experience is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software.
- Good numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Hotel Experience
Experience with hotel accounting processes such as:
- Daily revenue reconciliation
- Night Audit
- Guest ledger and city ledger
- Accounts payable/receivable
- POS and PMS reconciliation
- Cash and credit card reconciliation
- Purchase and inventory accounting
Working Conditions
- Full-time hotel position.
- May require working flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and shifts depending on hotel operations.
- Close coordination with various hotel departments is required.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
