Job Description – PPC Engineer / PPC Executive
Department: Production Planning & Control (PPC)
Location: Indore
Reporting To: Plant Head / Operations Head
Job Purpose
To plan, coordinate, monitor, and control production activities to ensure optimum utilization of resources, timely order execution, material availability, inventory control, and on-time dispatch of finished goods.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
- Develop machine-wise and department-wise production schedules.
- Monitor production progress against planned targets.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and production capacity.
- Coordinate production priorities based on customer requirements.
Material Planning
- Prepare raw material, consumable, and packing material requirements.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores departments for timely availability of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and prevent stock-outs.
- Support inventory optimization and reduction of excess stock.
Order Tracking & Execution
- Track customer orders from receipt to dispatch.
- Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) and production status.
- Ensure timely completion of production orders.
- Coordinate with dispatch team for shipment planning.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Sales, Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality, and Dispatch teams.
- Resolve production bottlenecks and material shortages.
- Ensure smooth information flow across departments.
Reporting & MIS
- Prepare Daily Production Reports (DPR).
- Generate Plan vs. Achievement reports.
- Monitor production efficiency and capacity utilization.
- Maintain inventory and WIP reports.
- Present weekly and monthly performance reports to management.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify planning and scheduling improvements.
- Reduce production lead time and delays.
- Improve resource utilization and productivity.
- Support ERP implementation and process automation initiatives.
Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering)
- Diploma Engineering with relevant experience
- Graduation (any stream)
Experience
- 2–5 years in manufacturing industries
PPC Engineer
- 5–8 years in production planning and manufacturing operations
