1. Domain Expertise:
Deep expertise in Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) processes within the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) sector. This role is part of Accenture GN's strategic consulting practice, supporting end-to-end MRO transformation engagements that drive operational excellence, digital adoption, and supply chain optimization for A&D clients.
The ideal candidate will bridge strong domain knowledge of MRO ecosystems with hands-on consulting delivery capability. You will own workstreams, manage client stakeholder relationships at functional lead level, and mentor junior team members — while remaining closely involved in solution design, process analysis, and delivery execution.
Strong familiarity with A&D MRO processes and platforms, including base maintenance, line maintenance, engine MRO, component repair, and rotable management. Demonstrated expertise in aircraft sustainment, fleet readiness, and aftermarket service models. Background in Aerospace/Defense Engineering with an MBA preferred.
Exposure to:
a. Process Assessment & Optimization
-
Analyze existing MRO processes (line maintenance, base maintenance, engine overhaul, component repair, etc.) to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
-
Identify bottlenecks and recommend performance improvements across planning, execution, quality assurance, and supply chain operations.
-
Lead root cause analysis for recurring maintenance issues and drive standardization of best practices across MRO operations.
-
Develop process improvement roadmaps with defined KPIs, owners, and implementation timelines.
b. Service & Maintenance Planning
-
Support long-range and tactical service planning including fleet maintenance schedules, resource availability, and capacity planning.
-
Enable clients to optimize turnaround time (TAT), increase fleet availability, and reduce unscheduled maintenance events.
-
Develop maintenance program review frameworks aligned with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles and OEM guidance.
-
Assess staffing models, shift patterns, and skills frameworks for MRO operations across line and base maintenance contexts.
c. Parts Demand & Supply Planning
-
Work with stakeholders to improve forecasting accuracy for MRO parts, consumables, and rotable components.
-
Assess planning systems and processes for spare parts provisioning, lead times, inventory buffers, and sourcing strategies.
-
Support development of planning models using historical consumption data, reliability trends, and maintenance schedules.
-
Evaluate vendor performance, alternative sourcing, and repair-vs-buy decisions for critical MRO components.
d. Digital Platform Advisory
-
Assess and benchmark current MRO platforms (e.g., AMOS, TRAX, Ramco, IFS, SAP EAM, GE Aviation) and identify gaps against future-state requirements.
-
Lead discussions on MRO system architecture, integration design, and data flows across engineering, supply chain, and operations.
-
Recommend process digitization, automation, and platform modernization strategies with supporting business cases.
-
Support MRO technology implementations as a domain SME — validating configuration, testing scenarios, and supporting user acceptance.
e. Benchmarking & Business Case Development

Conduct industry benchmarking on key MRO KPIs — TAT, cost per flight hour, spares availability, schedule reliability, and asset utilization.
-
Develop compelling business cases for process improvements, technology upgrades, and organizational restructuring initiatives.
-
Prepare executive-level deliverables including current-state assessments, transformation roadmaps, and progress dashboards.
f. Stakeholder Engagement
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance operations, logistics, IT, and finance to drive alignment on transformation priorities.
-
Facilitate workshops and structured interviews with SMEs to extract insights, validate findings, and build consensus around transformation roadmaps.
-
Manage client stakeholder relationships at functional lead level; communicate status, risks, and decisions clearly and proactively.
