Role Description
The Academic Counsellor will act as the primary guide for learners throughout their journey at akumen. This role involves understanding learner aspirations, advising them on program choices, ensuring their progress, and helping create a motivating and productive learning environment aligned with akumen’s industry-led standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Counsel students and explain Akumen programs, fees, and benefits.
2. Handle enquiries through calls, WhatsApp, and other channels.
3. Follow up with prospective students and support the admission process.
4. Maintain lead and counselling records.
5. Work towards individual and team goals.
6. Handle student and parent queries.
7. Participate in webinars, workshops and student engagement activities.
Must-have Skills
1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Strong counselling and follow-up skills.
3. Positive, proactive, and goal-oriented approach.
4. Experience in EdTech, education, counselling, sales, or admissions is preferred.
5. Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
Preferred Skills
1. Experience in academic counselling, student support or education services.
2. Understanding of tech driven learning areas (AI, Cloud, Data, Software Engineering etc.) even at a high level – given akumen’s industry aligned programs.
Experience
1. 0-4 years of experience in counselling, education management, or learner support (freshers with strong communication skills may also apply).
2. Experience working in edtech or training environments is an added advantage.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
