An Indian Commis Chef assists in preparing authentic Indian dishes while maintaining kitchen hygiene, food quality, and operational standards. The role includes supporting senior chefs in daily kitchen operations, mise en place, food preparation, and maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Indian curries, gravies, tandoori items, breads, and snacks as per recipe standards.
- Assist senior chefs in daily kitchen operations.
- Maintain proper mise en place before service.
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation standards.
- Follow hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
- Store food properly and monitor stock rotation (FIFO).
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work area.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff during buffet and à la carte service.
- Reduce food wastage and handle ingredients carefully.
- Support banquet, buffet, and live counter operations when required.
Skills Required

Requirements
- Diploma or certification in Hotel Management/Culinary Arts preferred.
