Job Title: Territory Manager (Merchant Acquisition – Mid-Market & Premium)
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned sales leader for the role of Territory Manager. You will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and driving a high-performing team of 8-10 Field Sales Executives (FSEs). Your mission is to dominate the regional market by securing POS and EDC placements in high-street retail, premium hospitality, and mid-market commercial hubs.
The ideal candidate is a "player-coach" who can dive into a difficult negotiation alongside an FSE one hour and analyze territory performance data the next.
Key Responsibilities
● Team Leadership & Performance: Manage a team of 8-10 FSEs, ensuring they meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly acquisition targets.
● On-Ground Coaching: Spend 60–70% of your time in the field, conducting joint calls to help FSEs close high-value accounts and improve their pitch quality.
● Territory Mapping: Strategically divide the territory to maximize coverage and ensure the team is focusing on high-TPV (Total Provincial Volume) potential outlets.
● Key Account Management: Directly handle relationships with large regional "MUMs" (Multi-Unit Merchants) and premium outlets that require senior-level intervention.
● Retention & Activation: Monitor the health of active terminals; work with the team to resolve merchant grievances and prevent "churn" or terminal inactivity.
● Daily Reporting: Conduct morning huddles and evening reviews to track funnel movement, deployment status, and KYC compliance.
Required Qualifications & Skills
● Experience: 5 to 7 years in Sales, with at least 2 years in a people-management role (Team Lead or Territory Manager level).
● Domain Expertise: Strong background in Fintech, POS/EDC Sales, or Merchant Acquiring is mandatory.
● Segment Experience: Proven experience in managing sales teams that target the High-End or Mid-Market segments.
● Analytical Skills: Ability to use CRM tools and Excel to track team productivity, activation rates, and "Productivity Per FSE."
● Hiring & Training: Ability to identify sales talent and quickly upskill new joiners on product features and objection handling.
● Local Intelligence: Deep geographical knowledge of the assigned territory’s commercial hubs and premium retail pockets.
Performance Indicators (KPIs)
● Team Productivity: Percentage of the team meeting their individual monthly targets.
● Segment Mix: Achievement of a specific ratio of high-end vs. general trade outlets.
● Activation Rate: Ensuring that deployed machines reach the required transaction thresholds within the first 30 days.
● Retention: Low terminal de-installation rates within the territory.
