Job Summary:
The PGT Computer Science Teacher is responsible for teaching Computer Science / Informatics Practices to students of Grades XI & XII in accordance with the CBSE curriculum. The role involves developing students’ programming, computational thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills while preparing them for board examinations and higher studies in technology-related fields. Common CBSE senior secondary expectations include Python, SQL, practical work, and project guidance.
Key Responsibilities:Academic Responsibilities
- Teach Computer Science / Informatics Practices for Grades XI & XII as per CBSE guidelines.
- Deliver lessons on:
- Python Programming
- Database Management Systems (SQL)
- Computer Networks
- Data Structures & Algorithms
- Cyber Safety & Emerging Technologies
- Informatics Practices (where applicable)
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.
- Conduct computer lab sessions, practical demonstrations, and project-based learning activities.
- Prepare students for CBSE Board Examinations, practical exams, and viva voce.
- Monitor student performance and provide academic support where needed.
- Encourage innovation, coding culture, logical thinking, and digital literacy.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Design question papers, tests, assignments, and practical evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, marks, report cards, and academic progress.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
Classroom & Lab Management
- Ensure effective classroom discipline and positive learning environment.
- Manage computer lab resources, software, and equipment responsibly.
- Promote safe and ethical use of technology and internet resources.
Co-Curricular & School Responsibilities
- Support school events, exhibitions, coding competitions, and technology clubs.
- Participate in staff meetings, PTMs, training sessions, and academic planning activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning.
- Stay updated with CBSE circulars, syllabus revisions, and technological advancements.
Eligibility Criteria:Educational Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Applications / Relevant Discipline.
OR
- B.E. / B.Tech. / MCA / M.Sc. in relevant specialization.
- B.Ed. mandatory (as per CBSE norms).
Experience:
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE School preferred.
- Experience teaching Senior Secondary (XI & XII) classes preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong subject expertise in Programming & Computer Science concepts.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and computer applications.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to integrate technology into teaching-learning practices.
- Strong analytical, mentoring, and student engagement abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, LMS, and digital teaching tools.
