Position Overview
The Survey Officer will be responsible for carrying out all mine surveying activities at our Moira Site in accordance with DGMS regulations, ensuring accuracy in mine plans, production measurements, and statutory compliance for open-cast (UG mentioned by you) mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out surface and underground mine surveys as per DGMS guidelines.
- Prepare, update, and maintain statutory mine plans, sections, and records.
- Conduct volume calculations for overburden, coal/mineral extraction, and backfilling.
- Assist in mine management in production planning and pit optimization.
- Ensure survey accuracy using modern surveying instruments (Total Station, GPS, etc.).
- Verify boundary pillars, bench parameters, gradients, and safety distances.
- Coordinate with Mining, Geology, and Safety departments.
- Ensure compliance with DGMS, CMR, and other statutory requirements.
- Preparation of Mine plans for UG and OCM and maintenance of field books, all stautory plans and sections.
Academic Qualification
- Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS (Mandatory)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Underground (UG) Mines as well as in OCM.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of DGMS rules & mining regulations
- Proficient in mine surveying techniques and instruments
- Ability to interpret geological and mining plans
- Good coordination and communication skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in mechanized UG mines
- Familiarity with mine planning software (Desirable)
- Safety-oriented and compliance-focused mindset
