Job Summary:
The Social HOD is responsible for leading the Social Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching, curriculum planning, academic excellence, and continuous improvement in student learning outcomes. The role includes mentoring teachers, monitoring classroom practices, and implementing CBSE guidelines effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Social Science department.
- Plan and monitor curriculum delivery in accordance with CBSE guidelines.
- Prepare annual academic plans, lesson plans, and assessment schedules.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
- Analyze student performance and implement improvement strategies.
- Mentor, train, and support department teachers for professional growth.
- Ensure timely completion of syllabus and examination-related work.
- Organize departmental meetings, projects, exhibitions, and educational activities.
- Maintain academic records, question papers, result analysis, and documentation.
- Coordinate with school leadership on academic initiatives and policy implementation.
- Promote innovative teaching methods and technology integration in classrooms.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress when required.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, or a related Social Science subject.
- B.Ed. is mandatory.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–8 years of teaching experience in CBSE schools.
- At least 2 years of experience in an academic leadership role (HOD/Coordinator preferred).
