- Staff Management:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of hospital staff across various departments during assigned shifts.
- Assign duties and responsibilities to ensure adequate coverage and efficient workflow.
- Provide guidance, support, and coaching to staff members as needed.
- Address staffing issues, including scheduling conflicts, call-outs, and performance concerns.
- Patient Care Oversight:
- Monitor patient flow and bed management to ensure timely admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Respond to patient care needs and concerns, ensuring quality care delivery and patient satisfaction.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers to address patient care issues and ensure continuity of care.
- Emergency Response:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for managing emergencies and critical incidents within the hospital.
- Activate and coordinate emergency response protocols, including Code Blue, Code Red, and disaster response plans.
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders, including hospital administration, medical staff, and external agencies, during emergencies.
- Customer Service and Communication:
- Interact with patients, families, and visitors to address inquiries, complaints, and requests for assistance.
- Ensure effective communication between hospital departments, staff members, and external parties.
- Provide updates and reports to hospital administration regarding shift activities, incidents, and operational issues.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Monitor compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards during assigned shifts.
- Conduct regular rounds to assess the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of hospital facilities.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
- Administrative Duties:
- Complete administrative tasks, such as documenting shift activities, preparing reports, and updating shift logs.
- Assist with inventory management, equipment maintenance, and supply ordering as needed.
- Collaborate with other hospital departments and support services to facilitate smooth operations.
