Job Summary
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of boats for transportation of Materials personnel,materials, and equipment, while ensuring compliance with maritime safety regulations and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-start and post-operation inspections of the boat and engine.
- Ensure the boat is maintained in clean and seaworthy condition.
- Follow navigation rules, weather advisories, and safety procedures.
- Assist in berthing, mooring, anchoring, and casting off operations.
- Maintain fuel, engine, and voyage logbooks.
- Report any mechanical defects, accidents, or safety hazards immediately.
- Ensure availability and proper use of life-saving and fire-fighting equipment.
- Coordinate with marine operations, dock personnel, and supervisors for daily movements.
- Comply with statutory maritime regulations and company HSE policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum SSLC/10th Pass (Higher qualification preferred).
- Valid Boat Driver/Boat Master License issued by the competent Maritime/Port Authority.
- Basic Safety Training (BST) certificate preferred.
- First Aid certification is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience operating workboats, passenger boats, or utility boats in shipyards, ports, or marine environments.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of inland/coastal navigation rules.
- Basic engine operation and troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of marine safety practices.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and shift duties.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and safety conscious.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
