Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operation Theatre (OT) Technician to join our surgical team at Dayal Eye Centre. The role involves preparing and maintaining the operation theatre, assisting ophthalmic surgeons during procedures including Cataract, LASIK, and other laser surgeries, and ensuring strict adherence to sterilisation and infection control protocols. Freshers with relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply and will be trained in ophthalmic OT procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up the operation theatre with required instruments, equipment, and consumables before each procedure
- Assist surgeons during ophthalmic procedures (Cataract, LASIK, Refractive, and other laser surgeries)
- Operate and monitor phacoemulsification machines, microscopes, lasers, and other ophthalmic OT equipment
- Ensure proper sterilisation of surgical instruments and OT environment as per NABH protocols
- Maintain inventory of OT consumables, IOLs, sutures, and surgical supplies
- Follow strict infection control and biomedical waste management practices
- Prepare patients for surgery — positioning, draping, and pre-operative checks
- Maintain accurate OT records, surgery logs, and equipment maintenance reports
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and counsellors for smooth OT workflow
- Handle emergency situations calmly and as per protocol
Requirements (Must-Have) / Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT / BOTT / B.Sc. OT Technology)
- Experience in an eye hospital or ophthalmology setup preferred
- Freshers with relevant qualifications are also encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of sterilisation techniques and OT protocols
- Basic understanding of ophthalmic surgical instruments and equipment
Candidate must Have:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a sterile, high-precision environment
- Good hand-eye coordination and ability to assist during microscopic surgeries
- Willingness to learn and adapt to ophthalmic OT procedures
- Team player with good communication skills
- Physical stamina to stand for long surgical hours
- Familiarity with NABH standards is an added advantage
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹550,000.00 per year
