We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and detail-oriented Accountant to modernize and upgrade our current accounting methods. The ideal candidate will possess sharp quick-calculation skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and deep domain expertise in managing complex travel logistics accounting—including fleet operations, fuel efficiency tracking, and multi-sector billing.
Key Responsibilities1. Accounting System Modernization
- Evaluate our current accounting practices and implement advanced, efficient methods to streamline daily financial tracking.
- Transition traditional or manual bookkeeping into highly automated, error-free accounting workflows.
2. Fleet & Logistics Financial Management
- Manage day-to-day accounts for diverse travel verticals: car rentals, holiday packages, flight/railway bookings, and corporate hotel reservations.
- Create and maintain rigorous tracking models for fleet operations, GPS data logs, and daily fuel efficiency metrics ($km/liter$) to monitor operational leakages [cite: Professional interest in fleet operations and logistics management, specifically regarding the implementation of GPS tracking and the calculation of daily fuel efficiency for commercial vehicles.].
- Account for specialized service structures, including EV taxi operations and driver service allocations.
3. Invoicing, B2B, & Government Billing
- Handle high-volume billing, commercial quotations, and dynamic pricing structures (8hr/80kms, 12hr/120kms, outstation night charges).
- Manage corporate and government tenders, tracking security deposits, contracts, and milestone payments.
- Ensure flawless processing of GST compliance, TDS, tax filings, and regular financial audits.
4. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Use advanced Excel models to run profitability analyses on specific routes, corporate contracts, and individual fleet vehicles.
- Provide the management with swift, real-time cost-benefit calculations during live tender bidding or sudden market rate fluctuations (e.g., fuel price spikes).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3+ years of core accounting experience, with strong preference given to candidates from the Tours & Travels, Logistics, or Fleet Management industries.
- Excel Expertise: Advanced Excel skills are mandatory (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, logical formulas, data validation, and dynamic dashboard creation).
- Numerical Agility: Exceptional mental math and quick-calculation abilities for rapid quoting, fuel-mileage auditing, and expense verification.
- Software Knowledge: Proficiency in Tally Prime, Zoho Books, or similar travel-ERP software.
- Taxation: Solid grasp of Indian taxation laws pertaining to the travel industry, including GST, TCS, and TDS rules.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), M.Com, or equivalent accounting certification
