Provide guidance in international shipping. Works with Customs Brokers to supply tariff classifications for the Global Aftermarket Operation and ensure compliance of entries. Coordinates international shipments, domestic truck loads and oversized freight. As our logistics coordinator, you’ll oversee and facilitate our supply chain logistics from procurement to the last mile. You’ll organize, implement, and analyze systems, using people and processes to manage the storage and transportation of inventory and ensure high customer satisfaction. Frequently coordinating shipments (imports) from suppliers in Asia, Europe, India, and Middle East. And regularly exporting goods from factories in USA, Australia, Singapore, India, China, Middle East, and Poland.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Generate global shipping SOP’s.
- Schedule and coordinate outgoing customer shipments through external transportation lines.
- Follow up with customers for shipment release authorizations.
- Request and verify freight quotations for shipments.
- Create Bills of Lading for outgoing shipments and third party for above specified shipments
- Maintain customer contact for final shipping arrangements
- Reconcile open orders and perform physical daily walk through of items to be shipped to ensure all scheduled shipments leave the facility , based on above specified shipments
- Maintain all Export Compliance requirements
- Provide proof of delivery tracking and follow up per customer request
- Prepares the required reports, charts and graphs and other measurement information. Collects data and inputs information into detailed reports and planning systems. Keeps records and control documents to support location measurements and procedures.
- Determining and applying Harmonized Tariff Classification to items imported or exportedfrom all Aftermarket locations.
- Candidate must have strong working knowledge of shipping routes, export and import compliance between the following countries; USA, Australia, Singapore, India, China, Middle East, and Poland.
- Receives, audits for accuracy, obtain required documents, logs and maintains brokerage invoices
- Complete required paperwork pertaining to international / cross-border shipments, determine best shipment method, working with forwarders for quotes
- Prepares and executes Export Clearances
- Review potential export license requirements and apply for license as required.
- Organizes the movement of freight for truck load and oversized shipments
- Participate on the Corporate Logistics Team for selection of approved carriers for both domestic and international freight
- Coordinates freight payment for various sites, ensures internal procedures are followed, responds to and resolves issues as necessary
- Manage freight claims for various facilities, work with carrier as applicable.
- Understands and can apply rules of classification per the HTSUS and Globally
- Understands and can apply Free Trade Agreement regulations
- Strong knowledge of international import / export requirements and regulations
- Strong knowledge of transportation, logistics and freight movement
- Strong attention to detail required for accurate data entry.
- Coordinate and track supply chain operations through effective communication with manufacturers, suppliers, vendors, and retailers
- Keep organized logs and records of warehouse and executed orders
- Solve shipping and inventory issues for stakeholders
- Plan and track final shipments (including costs and timelines) according to customer requests
- Use IT logistics to monitor and optimize shipping procedures
- Prepare detailed, accurate reports for upper management
- Analyze logistics-related data, and suggest improvements for efficiency
- Know, follow, and enforce all safety standards, regulations, and company policies
Required Education / Experience
- US Customs Brokerage License
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics and supply chain management, business administration, or business analytics
- At least five years of proven expertise through a successful track record as a logistics coordinator, supply chain manager, or customer service manager
- Comprehensive knowledge of ISO standards and logistics-related laws and regulations
- Proficiency with ERP and logistics software
