We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled CNC Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The candidate will be responsible for operating CNC plate cutting machines — specifically ESAB and Messer (plasma/oxy-fuel/laser) cutting systems — to produce precise metal plate components as per engineering drawings and production requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC plate cutting machines (ESAB / Messer)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and cutting programs (CNC/G-code)
- Program or load cutting programs for various plate thicknesses and profiles
- Perform routine machine maintenance, calibration, and pre-shift inspections
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality as per tolerances
- Maintain production records, cutting logs, and material traceability documents
- Coordinate with production planners and QC team for job scheduling and inspection
- Ensure safe machine operation and compliance with shop floor safety protocols
Required qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Fabrication Engineering
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience as a CNC operator (plate cutting preferred)
- Proficiency in operating ESAB or Messer CNC cutting machines
- Working knowledge of CNC programming, G-code, and CAM software
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret tolerances
- Strong understanding of plate materials (MS, SS, alloy steel)
Preferred skills
- Experience with plasma, oxy-fuel, or laser cutting technologies
- Prior work in steel fabrication, shipbuilding, or heavy engineering industries
- Familiarity with nesting software (e.g., ProNest, IGEMS, or similar)
- Basic computer skills for loading cutting files and maintaining logs
Pay: ₹22,076.00 - ₹31,795.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Garden Reach, Kolkata, West Bengal: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Preferred)
