Role: BFF Architect / Adobe Commerce Architect/GraphQL (Query Language)
Overview
The BFF Architect / Adobe Commerce Architect is responsible for designing and leading API-first, scalable commerce solutions using Adobe Commerce. This role defines the technical architecture, integration patterns, and development standards for enterprise commerce implementations, with a strong focus on API Mesh, PHP, and Node.js–based services.
Key Responsibilities
Architect end-to-end Adobe Commerce solutions aligned to enterprise and cloud-native standards.
Design and implement API-first and headless commerce architectures, leveraging Adobe API Mesh as a unified GraphQL orchestration layer.
Lead backend and integration design using Node.js (Adobe App Builder / microservices) and PHP (Adobe Commerce customizations).
Define integration patterns with Adobe and non-Adobe systems (AEM, ERP, CRM, payment platforms, etc.).
Establish best practices for extensibility, performance, security, and maintainability while minimizing core platform customization.
Provide technical leadership, code review, and architectural governance across delivery teams.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Strong experience architecting and developing on Adobe Commerce (Magento).
- Proven experience with API Mesh, GraphQL, and API orchestration patterns and proven experience in Adobe App Builder.
- Advanced PHP development experience for Commerce modules and integrations.
- Hands on experience with Node.js, including API and service development.
- Solid understanding of cloud native, headless, and composable commerce architectures.
Preferred Experience
Adobe App Builder and serverless architectures.
Large-scale enterprise or multi-brand commerce implementations.
Performance optimization, security, and CI/CD practices in cloud environments.
