Job Title: Commi I / DCDP – South Indian Cuisine
Job Summary
The Commi I / DCDP – South Indian Cuisine is responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of authentic South Indian dishes while maintaining quality, consistency, and hygiene standards. The role involves supporting senior chefs, managing daily mise-en-place, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, vadas, uttapams, sambar, rasam, chutneys, biryanis, curries, and regional specialties.
- Follow standardized recipes and ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, spice mixes, batters, gravies, and accompaniments.
Kitchen Operations
- Support senior chefs during food preparation and service.
- Ensure timely completion of mise-en-place for lunch and dinner operations.
- Coordinate with team members to maintain efficient kitchen workflow.
Quality & Inventory Control
- Monitor ingredient quality and freshness.
- Assist in stock management and report shortages to senior chefs.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food products.
Hygiene & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in South Indian cuisine preferred.
- Knowledge of traditional South Indian ingredients, spices, and cooking methods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Trial Requirement
A practical kitchen trial is compulsory for all applicants. Final selection will be based on successful performance during the trial.
Pay: ₹19,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Panaji Altime, Goa: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
