Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary School Mathematics Teacher to inspire young learners and build a strong foundation in mathematical concepts. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that develop numeracy, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills while fostering confidence and a positive attitude toward mathematics.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate mathematics lessons in alignment with the school's curriculum.
- Teach core mathematical concepts, including number sense, arithmetic, measurement, geometry, data handling, and problem-solving.
- Use interactive and differentiated teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages active participation.
- Assess student learning through classwork, assignments, projects, quizzes, and examinations.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Identify students requiring additional support and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and assessments.
- Integrate educational technology and hands-on learning resources into classroom instruction where appropriate.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum planning and school initiatives.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, professional development programs, and school events.
- Ensure classroom discipline and promote student safety and well-being.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred or required as per school policy).
- Previous experience teaching mathematics at the primary school level is preferred.
- Strong understanding of primary mathematics curriculum and child-centered teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
