Key Responsibilities1. Academic Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership for D.Pharm, B.Pharm, Pharm.D, M.Pharm, and Ph.D. programmes (as applicable).
- Ensure curriculum implementation in accordance with PCI, UGC, and NEP 2020 guidelines.
- Promote outcome-based education (OBE) and innovative teaching-learning methodologies.
- Monitor academic planning, lesson plans, timetables, and course delivery.
- Ensure timely completion of the academic calendar.
2. Faculty Management
- Recruit, mentor, and retain qualified faculty members as per PCI norms.
- Conduct faculty performance appraisals and define KRAs/KPIs.
- Encourage faculty participation in FDPs, workshops, conferences, and certification programmes.
- Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and professional development.
3. Student Development
- Foster academic excellence, ethical practice, and professional competence.
- Strengthen mentoring, counselling, and career guidance systems.
- Promote participation in scientific competitions, conferences, poster presentations, and innovation activities.
- Encourage entrepreneurship and start-up initiatives in pharmaceutical sciences.
4. Research, Innovation & Consultancy
- Promote high-quality research leading to publications in Scopus, Web of Science, and UGC-CARE indexed journals.
- Encourage funded research projects, consultancy assignments, patents, and technology transfer.
- Establish collaborations with pharmaceutical industries, hospitals, research laboratories, and healthcare organizations.
- Supervise and strengthen doctoral and postgraduate research.
5. Industry & Healthcare Collaboration
- Develop partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, CROs, research institutes, and regulatory organizations.
- Facilitate internships, industrial training, hospital postings, and live projects.
- Organize guest lectures, continuing pharmacy education (CPE), seminars, and industrial visits.
- Strengthen placement opportunities through industry networking.
6. Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation
- Ensure full compliance with PCI regulations, UGC guidelines, NAAC requirements, and applicable state government regulations.
- Lead inspections by PCI and other statutory bodies.
- Maintain laboratories, equipment, documentation, and infrastructure as per regulatory standards.
- Coordinate NAAC, NIRF, IQAC, and quality assurance activities.
7. Administration
- Prepare departmental budgets and monitor financial utilization.
- Ensure effective utilization of laboratories, instruments, and learning resources.
- Conduct faculty meetings and academic review meetings.
- Oversee examinations, practical assessments, and evaluation processes.
- Maintain departmental records and statutory documentation.
8. Admissions & Outreach
- Support admissions through counselling sessions, school outreach programmes, career fairs, and promotional activities.
- Enhance the visibility and reputation of the School through academic and professional engagements.
- Build relationships with alumni and professional associations.
9. Quality Assurance
- Conduct periodic academic and laboratory audits.
- Monitor student learning outcomes and graduate employability.
- Review feedback from students, faculty, alumni, employers, and industry partners.
- Implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.
10. Institutional Responsibilities
- Serve on university committees and academic councils.
- Support interdisciplinary teaching, research, and institutional initiatives.
- Contribute to strategic planning and policy implementation.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Vice Chancellor.
